Exploration. Inquisitiveness leads to exploration of things, places, ideas and talents. As a child, it often starts with things, and as one grows, it leads to places. Later in life it leads to ideas. All along the way we are learning talents. And with technology, exploration is easier than ever.
From an early age my parents taught me the value of languages. My parents grew up in Colombia where it is common to send your children to school in a language other than your mother tongue. It was seen as a way of preparing your children to have opportunities beyond their country.
Every day we teach kids about this amazing world of ours. Taking a minute to stop and ask a simple question opens a dialogue with a child. I love how kids approach surroundings that we as adults blow right past. This curiosity presents opportunities for storytelling.
